Connect a device

KeyMob works with paired devices. You pair a device over USB, once per computer.

  1. Unlock the device. A locked device cannot complete pairing or show the trust prompt.
  2. Connect it with a data cable. Some charging cables do not carry data. Use a port on the computer rather than a hub.
  3. Tap Trust. The device asks Trust This Computer?, then asks for the passcode. Complete both.
  4. Open KeyMob. The device appears in the list with its name, model and iOS version.

If the device does not appear, see Device not found. On Windows, the cause is usually a missing Apple device driver.

Pairing creates a key shared between the device and this computer. Both sides keep it, so it survives restarts and disconnects. It applies to this computer only. Each additional computer must pair separately.

To revoke every pairing on a device at once, go to Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset Location & Privacy. Do this when a device is reassigned within a team.

After a device is paired over USB, KeyMob can connect to it over the local network. This is useful when the device needs to move, for example when testing location features, or when you prefer to work without a cable.

  1. Pair the device over USB as described above.
  2. In KeyMob, enable Wi-Fi debugging for the device.
  3. Connect the computer and the device to the same network, then unplug the cable.

All modules and counters work the same over Wi-Fi.

You can pair and connect several devices at once. Each one has its own entry in the list, its own session and its own counters. Switching between devices does not disconnect the others.
